Aloha!
My name is Arleen Fernando and I am the owner and head lei maker for Haumea Designs.
Haumea Designs originally started in 2013 as a floral business specializing in tropical floral arrangements for Bay Area weddings and events. Over the years, we transitioned to holding lei-making workshops at the Bay Area Aloha Festival and the San Francisco Botanical Garden, pop-up shops at Pottery Barn and selling lei for treasured milestones such as graduations, weddings and special events.
During the pandemic, Haumea Designs pivoted again to create aloha-inspired face masks to accommodate the face mask shortage. Each mask is created with the same aloha that we put into creating each lei. Just as each lei surrounds the wearer with aloha, so does each face mask.
In 2022, the home base for Haumea Designs moved to Honolulu and we are relaunching the business! We are currently a preferred vendor with Marissa HB Photography based on Oʻahu and are slowly opening up the business for lei orders both on island and on the mainland.
